Our Policies
Cancellation Policy:
Reservations cancelled 30 days or more no charge.
15-29 days before arrival 30% of the total amount of reservation will be charged
14-7 days before arrival 50% will be charged
1-6 days before arrival 75% of the reservation will be charged
No SHOWS will be full charged (100%)
CHECK IN AND OUT TIMES:
Check In: 1:00 pm
Check Out: 11:00 am
Early check-ins and late checkouts will be accommodated whenever possible. Luggage storage is always available for early check-ins or late checkouts.
If you plan to come early let us know before arrival and we will be happy to see if we can get your cabin ready before check in time or set up some activities while your cabin is being cleaned.
LUNCH DAY OF ARRIVAL:
Please let us know in advance if you like to have lunch with us on the day of arrival, so the kitchen know how many people to expect.
Late checkouts can be requested by email or at the lodge. We can make arrangements if the cabin/room is not occupied or doesn’t need to be cleaned for incoming guests.
LATE ARRIVAL:
Driving after sunset in Costa Rica is not recommended. For your own safety make every effort to arrive at the Lodge before it gets dark. (FYI: The last 7km before La Carolina Lodge is on an unpaved road) As our kitchen closes at 7:30 pm, please arrange to have dinner prior to a late arrival. For the respect and privacy of all our guests we do not accept any arrivals after 9:00pm, except by prior arrangement.
ALCOHOL:
As the Lodge does not serve alcohol, please purchase prior to arrival. Larger towns have the greatest selection, whilst smaller local towns have a more limited supply. The local cantina (1.5km) has a very basic offering and is open during irregular hours.
CHILD SAFETY:
We love children! However, due to many steps, deep and fast flowing rivers, open hot tubs, and many lit candles at evening times, La Carolina Lodge is not an ideal place for very young children. You are responsible for your own children and have to watch them at all times.
UNPAID SERVICES
We have the right to charge your credit card for any unpaid services after departure.
