Rates (per person per night) includes all the below:
- The room or cabin
- Three (3) delicious & substantial meals daily per person
- All coffee/tea and fresh homemade juices
- Use and access to the fire wood burning hot tub, river, private trails inside the property (along the river and through the pastures and lake property close by with a boat to fish.
- Free wifi in our designated wifi area.

More Info:
- All Rates are per persons per night
- We highly recommend a 2 night minimum stay. If one night stay requested and is possible we will charge a 1 night stay surcharge of $15.00 per person.

Additional fees
Horseback riding:
Horseback riding is not included anymore. We will charge the following amount for the ride:
$20.00 per person per ride.
Children under the ages of 10 will not be able to ride horses (neither with their parents)
Guide fee:
We will charge $45.00 if 1 – 3 people as a guide fee when guests would like to join our tour to Rio Celeste. The guide is not private, they will join a group. If the group is bigger then 4 then it will drop down to $12.00pp.
The transportation to the park is not included ($60.00 per car), neither is the entrance fee to the park($12.00pp)
Tour to the National Tenorio park: (not private guide, no transportation/entrance or parking fee included)
$45.00 for 1 person in the group
$45.00pp if 2 or 3 persons in the group
$12.00 pp if 4 or more persons in the group.
Guests will drive their own car
If no car: We can arrange transportation will be $80.00
Laundry:
$10.00 per load
Cancellation Policy
- Reservations cancelled 30 days or more no charge.
- 15-29 days before arrival 30% of the total amount of reservation will be charged
- 14-7 days before arrival 50% will be charged
- 1-6 days before arrival 75% of the reservation will be charged
- No SHOWS will be fully charged (100%)
For reservations of large groups we require deposits 50% 1 month in advance. Please send an email to [email protected] when the deposit is made and provide the following info:
- name of the reservation
- date of arrival
- date of departure
- amount of deposit.
Check in and out times:
Check In: 1:00 pm
Check Out: 11:00 am
Early check-ins and late checkouts will be accommodated whenever possible. Luggage storage is always available for early check-ins or late checkouts.
Late arrival
Driving after sunset in Costa Rica is not recommended. For your clients safety please let them know to arrive at the Lodge before it gets dark. (FYI: The last 7km before La Carolina Lodge is on an unpaved, unlit road) As our kitchen closes at 7:30 pm, please make prior arrangements to have dinner for a late arrival. For the respect and privacy of all of our guests we do not accept any arrivals after 9:00pm, except by prior arrangement.
Alcohol
As the Lodge does not serve alcohol, please let your clients know to purchase prior to arrival. Larger towns have a better selection of higher quality wines, while smaller local towns such as Bijagua (12kms) have a more limited supply. The local cantina (1.5km) has a very basic offering and is not always open during regular hours.
Child Safety at the Lodge
We love children! However, due to many steps, a deep and fast flowing river next to the lodge, open hot tubs, and many candles at night, La Carolina Lodge is not an ideal place for very young children. Please inform your clients with children what to expect.
